MSLAX 2021 SUMMER TOURNAMENT

Venue

Fernbrook Fields and Maple Grove High School – located adjacent to one another
Fernbrook Fields - 14401 99th Ave N, Maple Grove, MN 55369
Maple Grove HS - 9800 Fernbrook Ln N, Maple Grove, MN 55369

  • Team tents with camping style stakes can be placed in open areas near the fields.
  • Pets are allowed but must be on a leash at all times.
  • Please do not park in thruways and posted no parking
  • areas. Violators will be towed.

Game Format - Pool Play

  • Games will follow the rules of MSLax.
    •  HONOR THE GAME
      • We expect ALL players, coaches, and fans to exhibit good sportsmanship.  Poor behavior by coaches, players, or fans will not be tolerated. 
      • If requested, those not complying will have to leave the premises promptly if asked.   
  • Top team in bracket for each game is HOME team
  • All levels will play 45-minute running time games.
  • Two 20-minute halves and a 5-minute half time.
  • Times may be adjusted if an injury takes place.
  • Each team is allowed one 2-minute timeout, it will be taken from game running time
  • Timeouts are not allowed during the last 5 minutes of play.
  • Water breaks may be implemented if the weather dictates.
  • No coaching is allowed during water breaks.

Pool Play and Standings Calculations

  • Three-game minimum for each team.
  • Pool play scoring: 2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie, and 0 points for a loss.
  • If there is a tie at the end of Pool Play, to break the tie, we will:
    • Use goals against,
    • then goals for,
    • then goal differential
    • and if necessary, a coin toss!
  • Champions in each pool will earn MSLAX Champion lanyards!
  • Pictures will be taken of both the 1st and 2nd place teams for
  • each pool.

Game Format - Championship

  • 5-minute sudden-death overtime (first goal wins)
  • If a winner is not determined after the first overtime period, teams will have a 2-minute break and then start another 5-minute overtime.
  • This will continue until a goal is scored.

Game Table Volunteers

  • Every team is required to provide one volunteer for the game table. Representatives should be at table when teams start warming up. Failure of a team to have a representative at the game table will result in a penalty being assessed to that team.
  • If there is a significant delay to the game, as in the case of an injury, the game may be extended by agreement between the ref and the two coaches as to the length.
  • Please report any such delays to headquarters so we can notify any possible impacts to subsequent games.

Tourney Machine Information

MSLax encourages families to download and use the Tourney Machine app.  Below is a QR code that can be scanned to download the app and a few simple steps to follow to have the app ready to go so families can follow the games and scores.

 

ONCE YOU DOWNLOAD THE APP, IT’S FEW SIMPLE STEPS TO HAVE THE INFORMATION FOR THE TEAMS YOU ARE INTERESTED IN AT YOUR FINGERTIPS.

  1. Open the App, then select Search for an Event
  2. Select Lacrosse, Minnesota and July 2021, then Search
  3. Select MSLAX Summer Tournament 
  4. Select Find Your Team and scroll through the Divisions to find your teams
  5. When you find your team, Select the Pinnie icon to the right of the team to Favorite or Follow the team. 
  6. The next time you open the app, your selected teams will appear in the My Teams section
